I have had this song/poem with me since I was a teenager. I don’t know who wrote it or where it came from but it always reminds me of the Savior’s love for all of us. It reminds me of the importance of giving back and serving those people around me like the Savior has done for each of us. It reminds me that there are so many people in the world today who are struggling and need our love.
Reach Out, and Give
A child was born in Bethlehem
within a cattle stall,
A child’s love was pure enough
to lift and save us all.
He gave His love away
gave us life that we might live
filled our heart and souls with perfect love,
His love is ours to give.
Give your love away
there’s someone needing you
Give your love away
reach out in all you do
For you have His love
It’s sent from above
Give your love away
When life’s clock is ticking by,
the minutes and the years
Fill your world with happiness
and wipe away the tears.
Then give your love away
share a smile with someone new
Lend a hand to those who need your love,
and love will return to you.
Give your love away
there’s someone needing you
Give your love away
reach out in all you do
For you have His love
It’s sent from above
Give your love away
Let's Serve!
